A 62-year-old man died this Tuesday after his home, located in the neighborhood, was consumed in flames. ClosedMontevideo.
According to what was reported by the National Fire DepartmentThe incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. The flames spread widely in the building located on Poland and Central America streets and caused the collapse of its roof, which caused the death of the man who lived on the site.
After receiving the alert for the incident, officials from the Fire Department moved to the site. Upon arrival they found the collapsed structure and neighbors in the area told him that a person was probably inside.
The troops entered the damaged house and there they found the charred body of the 62-year-old man. Minutes later, the victim’s son, who lived with her in that residence, but who was working at the time of the events, arrived at the scene.
Although the fire spread and affected the entire house, the staff did not report signs of risk of collapse in the construction. Other adjoining farms were inspected preventively.
The deceased was a person who had a motor disability due to a leg ulcer. The first line of investigation of the fact indicates that the fire originated in a heater.
