The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, reported on Monday that 62% of the schedule for the elections of governors, deputies to the National Assembly and representatives of legislative councils, scheduled for May 25.
“To this day, April 21, we have reached a 62% execution of the electoral schedule, a reflection of the institutional commitment and the joint effort of the technical, operational teams and all the actors involved,” said loving in A statement.

But the agency did not comment on the delays in the audit to the electoral registry, which was held a week after the scheduled date, as well as the problems that political parties experienced when applying, due to the fall of the system automated for almost four days, the disqualification of political actors and cards, as well as the express approval of new organizations for this process.

Most of the parties of the unitary platform, which groups an opposition sector, decided not to participate in these elections, with the exception of a new time (UNT), which registered their options in alliance with parties such as Union and Change (of Henrique Capriles), and movement for Venezuela, which they did not allow to register candidates.
It was also indicated that “the gender parity principle established in electoral regulations” was met, since 53.93% of men and 46.07% of women were registered.
In total, said the agency, 54 organizations applied for positions that will be chosen on May 25: 36 national, 10 regional, three indigenous people of national reach and five regional indigenous parties.
“In parallel, the National Electoral Council continues to develop the audits of the electoral system, with the presence of technicians of political organizations, as part of the guarantees that allow political parties to follow up and verify each phase of the electoral process, consolidating the chain of trust and transparency of the electoral system,” the CNE added.
