Health authorities predict an alarming increase in cases, while the country registers 100,000 infections a day at the beginning of winter.
Health authorities in the United States predict an alarming increase in Covid-19 cases for the more than 60 million citizens who have not yet been vaccinated and for the millions more who are partially immunized.
An analysis of data from the Center for Disease Control, CDC, suggests that around 60% of the American population may be entering the winter season with reduced immunity against coronavrus.
The United States currently reports about 100,000 daily cases of the virus, a figure that has not been seen since the beginning of summer, and the maximum peak reached was in January of this year with 300,000 infections, when the vaccine was not yet available.
Likewise, the American Union reached another milestone in the pandemic, as the number of deaths from deaths from coronavirus in 2021 exceeded the total for 2020, according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University. This despite the availability of doses and boosters, as well as the vaccine mandates for federal workers, which more than 92% have complied with.
Currently the country registers at least 770,691 deaths from coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic, and the deaths registered in 2020 were 385,343.
