6 pillars and a promise of modernization: this is Radhamés Silverio's plan to lead the UASD

The candidate for the Rectorate of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) for the Triunfo movement, Radhamés Silverio, presented this Monday his management proposal for the period 2026-2030, during the official opening of the university electoral campaign in an event led by the magnificent rector, Editrudis Beltrán Crisóstomo, and the president of the Central Electoral Commission, Enerio Rodríguez Arias.

Silverio highlighted the importance of “giving continuity to the achievements made by the current administration, in addition to incorporating a renewed vision aimed at the technological modernization of the state academy.”

“The challenge is to take on artificial intelligence and collaborative robotics with ethical rigor and a humanistic vision, turning classrooms into spaces for multidisciplinary debate,” he stated before dozens of teachers, administrative staff and students present in the Aula Magna.

The vice-rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies also stressed that his plan is based on six strategic pillars: human talent and teacher well-being; student well-being and comprehensive training; research, innovation and technological development; modernization and digital transformation; strategic alliances and international projection; and transparency and institutional quality.

During his speech, he highlighted the historical trajectory of the UASD as a pillar of national development, promoting access to knowledge and critical thinking. Likewise, he emphasized the need to keep the public university open, participatory and aligned with current social, scientific and technological challenges.

Among the proposed initiatives include the dignification of the teaching staff, the strengthening of socioeconomic support for students, the creation of an office to attract international research funds and the promotion of innovation centers in areas such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology.

Silverio recalled his 31 years of academic career, which began in 1991 as a Computer Science student, as well as his experience in the execution of 236 research projects and the publication of more than 296 scientific works. He also highlighted the training of more than 2,500 teachers and administrative staff, as well as the expansion of doctoral programs from two to 14 with their own qualifications.

He also presented his candidates for the vice-rectorships: Lesly Altagracia Mejía (Teaching), Alexi Martínez Olivo (Administrative), José Ferreira (Research and Postgraduate) and Radhamés Bautista López García (Extension), with the aim of promoting comprehensive leadership in all areas of the institution.

“The commitment to teachers, students and administrative staff is absolute. If the UASD does well, we all win and the Dominican Republic wins,” concluded Silverio, highlighting the need to modernize the university to turn it into an international benchmark for competitiveness and administrative transparency.
