A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.9 on the Richter scale shook the region of central baselines, in the center of the Philippines, with an epicenter located only 10 kilometers from the surface.
The Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Philippines (Phivolcs) reported that it is a high intensity earthquake, especially in the areas of San Fernando and Cebu. Its origin is tectonic.
