A total of 57 irregular migrants were transported on the bus with registration number 5B-16, which caught fire this morning in the Los Ruices area, Veraguas.
According to the National Migration Service, despite the fact that the bus was completely consumed by flames, none of the passengers were injured.
“All passengers are safe, thanks to a quick evacuation and compliance with the protocols established for these situations,” they said.
Migration indicated that this bus was headed to the Los Planes Temporary Immigration Reception Station, in Gualaca, Chiriquí province, when the fire occurred at the height of Limón Seco, in Los Ruices de Veraguas.
They added that the corresponding coordination is being carried out so that all the passengers traveling on this bus are transferred to the Gualaca Immigration Reception Center so that they can later continue their route to the United States.
