55 years transforming dreams into sustainable realities

For almost six decades, sustainability and social development have gone hand in hand with economic development. This has been achieved by fostering local capabilities, promoting entrepreneurship, building social community infrastructure, and promoting access to quality and technical education. His Puntacana Foundation It has a Sustainability Center and Marine Innovation Center, where more than 10 environmental impact programs are managed; as well as the execution of social projects and community programs in the areas of health, education, culture, sports, community development and citizen security, highlighting among these projects the Verón Primary Care Center, the Community Medical Missions, the Ann Polytechnic and Ted Kheel, and improvements to infrastructure and equipment in Public Schools.

This year, they commemorated 40 years of historical milestones of the Punta Cana Airport and the expansion of Terminal B. The airport began operations in 1983, being the first private aerodrome for international commercial use in the world, handling 68% of the country’s tourist air traffic, connecting with 75 cities in 34 countries through 58 airlines, moving more than 9 million passengers and transporting more than 25 million kilos of cargo annually. The PUJ has 2 runways, 33 boarding gates, 38 aircraft parking spaces and 7 VIP lounges.

In addition, they successfully celebrated the fifteenth (15th) edition of the Punta Cana Carnival, the seventh edition of the Corales Puntacana Championship, the first PGA TOUR event in the Dominican Republic; and signed an agreement with Cheddi Jagan International Airport for the construction, operation and joint management of a new airport terminal at Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana.

A vision of strategic growth and expansion

In a constantly changing global corporate environment, innovation and expansion have become essential pillars for growth and sustainability. As companies look for new ways to improve their operations, optimize resources and meet changing customer expectations, the adoption of advanced technologies and the development of strategic alliances are key factors to ensure their relevance and competitiveness.

Tangible evidence of this is the development of the Punta Cana Free Trade Zone (Air, Maritime, Land Logistics Center and Free Trade Zone Park), a project that will house cargo logistics operations and offices destined for the development of the Punta Cana HUB, a space designed to promote innovation and development of Fintech companies. The land has an approximate area of ​​546,617.45 m² and it is estimated that it will contribute to the creation of more than 10 thousand jobs, accelerating the economic growth of the area and positioning Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic as leaders in trade and foreign investment worldwide. international.

They are also innovating in the area of ​​hospitality, preparing for the inauguration of the “W Punta Cana”, in alliance with MAC Hotels and Marriott International, it will be the first inclusive W-all worldwide located in Uvero Alto.

Currently, they are building the Playa Serena hotel in Puntacana Resort, a project where nature meets luxury and exclusivity. It will have capacity for 160 guests, 75 suites, 5 overwater villas, 1 beach club, 3 restaurants, 1 theme restaurant, 1 beach restaurant, 4 bars and 8 spa bungalows.

Renewable energy

Together with the company Eurelius, they signed an agreement to implement a solar energy generation project, which will generate more than 50% of the energy consumed in the community of Punta Cana, contributing to the development of a more sustainable destination. With this project, the emission of more than 25 thousand tons of CO2 per year will be avoided and will help reduce energy costs. More than 30 MWp of solar production and more than 50 MWh of battery storage will be installed.

The project, in addition to the installation of photovoltaic panels, includes the installation of an energy storage system, which adds stability to the system against weather variations during the day. The photovoltaic plant will be located in the Punta Cana Airport (PUJ), where it will have space for future expansion.
