A total of 55 families residing in the townships of December 24, Las Garzas and Pacora, province of Panama, were benefited with housing solutions and land assignments within the legalization plan, by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen and the Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), Rogelio Paredes.
The Miviot delivered certificates of four basic units with their hygienic bathroom, a housing improvement and 17 of 50 certificates of provisional assignments of lots ready to bill, to families of poverty and extreme poverty.
The four houses measure 40.96 square meters, with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, hygienic bathroom and laundry, three of which were built in the townships of December 24 and one in Las Garzas, in addition to a renovation of a residence which was held in Pacora.
The families of Juliana Quiros, 23, Angel Quiros, 49, Oliver Villarreal, 30, and Rafael Valencia, 75, received the keys to their new homes; while Karla Hutchinson, 30, got an improved home.
Paredes indicated that after the socioeconomic evaluation of these families by Miviot’s Social Development Directorate, they proceeded to the construction and improvement of the residence, since they did not have the necessary income to carry out these works.
The symbolic delivery of 17 certificates for the legalization of lots was also made to families of these townships whose lands met the requirements, established to be legalized and that their residents can own them.
In the province of Panama, Miviot has invested 76 thousand 250 balboas in new homes and 9 million 62 thousand 600 balboas through the Housing Solidarity Fund for the purchase of the first house with a ceiling price of 70 thousand balboas.
