Uruguayans identify inflation, salaries and poverty as their biggest concerns at the moment, according to the survey by the consulting firm Cifra that was released last night on Telemundo on Channel 12.
According to the survey, carried out on 1,006 people between March 11 and 20, 22% of those surveyed see these three areas of the country as a crucial point of concern.
For 19% of Uruguayans, insecurity is the most worrying thing, while 15% consider that the economic situation is the main problem. Taking into account also the lack of work, which worries 13% of those interviewed, in total the economic aspects mean a problem for half of the population.
According to the survey, economic problems are of greater concern to people with less formal education, “who are the ones who generally have more employment problems and lower incomes,” reads the Cifra statement. Almost a quarter of people with basic or medium education are worried about inflation, while among the most educated less than a fifth are.
