A 5-year-old boy was seriously injured by a bullet to the head after, together with his brother, they manipulated the firearm of his stepfather, who is a member of the National Police of Peru, who left it in the table in his home in the Twenty-sixth of October district in Piura. The minor is in the Santa Rosa Hospital.
It happened last Saturday night in a house on block F of the Villa Hermosa settlement. The 27-year-old GCSS police officer told his colleagues in charge of the case that he had arrived at his property from work.
He explained that he left his personal firearm, inside his accessories and on the dining room table to go to the toilet of his home. At that moment, he heard a loud sound.
They were his partner’s two children, the youngest, 5, and his 9-year-old brother, who were found approximately one meter from the firearm that was drawn.
The 5-year-old boy was found with a bloody face and crying. Given this, his mother and the police officers themselves took him to the Santa Rosa Hospital in this town where he is hospitalized.
There, the doctor on duty diagnosed the minor with a gunshot wound (PAF). Left periocular entry, left frontal region exit and cerebral edema.
After that, the Police, aboard a patrol car, went with the police officer and owner of the weapon with which the five-year-old minor was badly injured, to his home where the events occurred, but the police officer told them that he did not know where the incident occurred. found the firearm, since, at the time of transferring the minor to the hospital, the house was left with the doors open and several neighbors had entered it.
