5 recommendations to avoid falling into scams during Buen Fin 2025

The Good End 2025 It starts this Thursday, November 13 and ends on November 17 Therefore, it is expected that a large number of people will take advantage of the discounts and promotions that the hundreds of physical and online establishments in the country will have.

Given the above, Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) asks consumers to reflect on what they really want to purchase, but also to pay close attention and not fall for false promotions, which is why they offer us some recommendations.

Recommendations

1. Verify that the offers are real and comparable: You have to compare the price before the event, to have a point of comparison and avoid simulated sales. Make sure the advertised price is what you will actually pay at the end of the purchase.

2. Make purchases in formal and trustworthy stores: Avoid stores that do not have a purchase history or if it is a digital store, check the previous comments of their buyers and that have verifiable contacts. Verify that the website uses “https://”, and that it includes an address, telephone number or a clear means of contact. Check the supplier’s history in services such as Profeco’s “Commercial Bureau” to see if they have complaints.

3. “Too good to be true” offers may not be real: Be wary of prices far below the market, such as trips or high-value products with extreme discounts, which may indicate fraud. Save evidence (screenshots, emails, posts) of the offer to support a claim if necessary.

4. Read the terms, conditions, warranty and return policy: Check what it is what the offer really includes or if the purchase is for months, confirm if it is with or without interest.

5. Make sure the product or service meets what is offered whether in model, specifications, compatibility.

It should be noted that, if the offer is not respected or there is non-compliance, you can go to the digital complaint channels or directly at the Profeco officeswho will carry out special surveillance during this Buen Fin 2025 season, and if businesses that do not respect the discounts may receive sanctions.
