Panama is positioned as a world power in Mental Calculation, after 49 children from all over the country were crowned champions in the World Mental Calculation Championship, held on July 20 in Madrid, Spain.
Panamanian children between 5 and 13 years of age competed with more than 700 children from around the world. The children once again demonstrated their courage and bravery, raising their country in high regard.
The Panamanian delegation was made up of 63 children, who earned their place in the World Cup after winning the national mental calculation championship in which 400 children from all provinces participated.
Children study mental calculations at the ALOHA Mental Arithmetic academy, which has branches in the provinces of Panama, Panama West, Coclé and Chiriquí.
The curriculum has a comprehensive impact on the lives of children, as in addition to teaching them calculations through an innovative methodology that uses the Japanese abacus, children develop their analytical skills, visualization, and photographic memory to the maximum, which allows them to have a comprehensive education to face the challenges of the future.
