This Thursday, October 27, the twenty-eighth ceremony for the destruction of firearms captured through public security programs and police actions carried out in conjunction with security forces was held at the new Center for the Destruction of Weapons, in Ancón.
According to the National Police, a total of 483 weapons of various calibers were destroyed, including 247 revolvers, 51 pistols, 102 rifles, 44 shotguns, 11 rifles, 10 sub-machine guns, 16 pellets, 1 carbine and 1 nipple.
They indicate that 111 are the proceeds of crime, 78 recovered through the Weapons Exchange Program for Vouchers in Colón and 294 that are disused weapons of the National Aeronaval Service.
Likewise, they stated that most of the seizures of these firearms are the product of the joint work carried out by the security forces in the streets to prevent them from being used to cause harm in the communities.
