Some 48 people were injured in the overturning of a bus that occurred on Tuesday night on Trunk 013, at the height of the La Peonía straight in the Tinaco municipality, Cojedes state. The passengers were returning to the Pao municipality after spending the day on a beach in Tucacas in the Falcón state.
According to the report from the National System for Risk Management, the damaged unit belongs to the Chirgua transportation line (model Encava 3200, license plate 6083A6G, year 1997, blue color) and the first hypotheses indicate that the accident would have been caused by mechanical failures and excess speed.
The initial alert, issued by the Simón Bolívar Volunteer Group, activated the immediate deployment of security agencies and at the scene they identified the injured, among whom were several minors. All of them presented generalized polytrauma and were rushed to the Dr. Eugenio Mariano González Hospital (Tinaco) and the Dr. Egor Nucete General Hospital (San Carlos).
Another overturn on Trunk 005
A second rollover occurred this Wednesday, February 18 at 11:15 am, on Trunk 005, La Milagrosa sector of the Tinaquillo municipality, involving a white International brand heavy-duty vehicle.
The vehicle was driven by citizen Sergio Rangel, 63 years old, who was trapped inside the vehicle until the rescue forces, with hydraulic cutting and releasing equipment, managed to extract him. The injured man presented multisystem trauma, and was transferred to the Joaquina de Rotondaro hospital in Tinaquillo.
