Santiago – Members of the General Directorate of Migration, on the instructions of the general director Venancio Alcántara Valdez, carried out an intense operation where 444 were detained undocumented Haitians in this city and Dajabón respectively, where they also seized money, false documents and electronic equipment.
Those detained for their irregular migratory conditions to be in the country, were intercepted in the streets, workplaces, vehicles in which they were transported and checkpoints at the border.
Of the 444 undocumented foreigners, 291 were processed in Santiago, 162 male, 129 female, 28 children accompanied by their mothers and 120 who were processed in Dajabón to be deported this Friday across the border with Juana Mendez Haiti.
During the investigations, 160 US dollars, 3,950 Dominican pesos, 8 passports, 5 laptop computers, 4 monitors, a CPU, three cell phones, a Wi-Fi modem, 1 pricesmart card, were seized in an office in the Olympic village along with 4 undocumented Haitians. , 6 false temporary permit cards, 1 Haitian identity card, 1 false temporary residence, a driver’s license and two electronic objects to be determined.
The operation that was headed by the lieutenant colonels of the Dominican Army Jesús Santana Cisnero, José Luis Rodríguez, Maldonado Tineo, in addition to Major Junior Manuel García, of the Dominican Army and a team of subordinates in motorized patrols and vehicles that traveled on three fronts in the heart city
All of the detainees were transferred to the shelter center on the border in Dajabón, where the purges are carried out, as well as two buses, 1 Yipeta, a car and 12 motorcycles, seized for traveling with the undocumented.
The military contingent that traveled to Santiago also received another 111 undocumented immigrants, detained in the area of influence of the fourth infantry brigade on the northwest line, 15 of whom were detained by Cesfront and joined the group to be returned to their territory.
