A total of 418 cases of dengue have been registered so far this year, as revealed by a report from the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
Said report indicated that 359 cases are without warning signs, while 57 with warning signs and 2 serious cases.
It also details that a death was reported in the district of San Miguelito.
According to the document, the incidence rate registers 9.5 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
The province of Bocas del Toro reports the highest number of cases with 124; followed by Panama North with 67; Panama Metro registers 63 cases and Chiriquí a total of 49.
While the district of San Miguelito reports the figure of 32; West Panama 29 cases; East Panama 22 cases; Herrera reports a total of 15; the province of Colón 7 cases; Veraguas registers 5; the Guna Yala region 3 cases, Los Santos a total of 2.
For their part, the provinces of Coclé, Darién and the Ngäbe Buglé region do not report cases of dengue.
The Ministry of Health continues to monitor this disease with house-to-house inspections and fogging; At the same time, it requests the support of the population in raising awareness of the elimination of all Aedes Aegypti mosquito breeding sites around and inside homes.
The Minsa reminds that if we do this we eliminate the transmission of dengue, zika and chikungunya.
