Ciudad Juárez, Chih., Close to 4,000 of the just over 10,000 confirmed deaths from covid in Chihuahua between March 2020 and last October 9 suffered from diabetes, state health authorities reported.
As part of the commemoration of World Diabetes Day, the State Health Secretariat announced that diabetes is the second comorbidity in officially documented coronavirus deaths in the state, after hypertension.
He specified that 3,986 of the 10,169 deaths from SARS-CoV-2 certified in the state during the pandemic suffered from diabetes and 5,386 deaths suffered from hypertension. He noted that the third comorbidity in Chihuahua is obesity, present in 1,992 deaths from covid, in addition, smoking was detected in 965 deaths from the virus, 701 with chronic kidney failure and 638 with heart disease.
