The Ministry of Transportation arranged a monthly allocation of $3.2 billion in the first quarter of 2022 for public transport by urban and suburban passenger cars in the interior of the country, with an increase of 40% compared to the current amounts.
The measure was formalized by resolution 82/2022 of the portfolio headed by Alexis Guerrera and was published this Monday in the Official Gazette.
The increase had been anticipated by Minister Alexis Guerrera in the last Friday meeting of governors of the Norte Grandewho in turn expressed their support for the decision of Transportation to discuss with the government of the City of Buenos Aires the transfer of the power to regulate the rates and eventual subsidies of the 32 bus lines with routes within the territory of the district .
The governors’ position was based on the fact that passenger transport rates in CABA are not only the lowest in the country, but also receive many more subsidies from the national State than the rest of the country.
The resolution was highlighted by the Entre Ríos deputy of the Frente de Todos Marcelo Casaretto, who on his Twitter account explained that “the objective is to reach $46,000 million in the year”, 70% more than the $27,000 million of 2021.
“Last year I presented the bill backed by the governors and then we included that amount in the 2022 Budget, which was rejected by the opposition,” recalled the legislator, who completed his tweet by noting that “now President Alberto Fernández has decided to remove this increase by resolution, making a federal country”.
✅ Interior Transportation. INCREASE OF 40%. As we reported last week, the Minister of Transportation Alexis Guerrera signed Resolution 82, increasing the funds to the Provinces by 40%, which will be $3,200 per month, $9,600 for the quarter. The goal is to reach $46,000 pic.twitter.com/y8lu4zBzYU

The resolution established the distribution of the “Compensation Fund for Public Transportation of passengers by urban and suburban motor vehicles in the interior of the country” in a monthly amount of $3,200 million for the January-March quarter, totaling the sum of $9,600 million for the entire period. period.
The aforementioned fund was created with the purpose of “generating an equitable distribution system that guarantees the traceability of the use of public funds” through “a liquidation process characterized by its transparency and by providing a framework of equality” for its beneficiaries, it was indicated in the preamble to the resolution.
In this regard, based on an analysis by the Undersecretary of Economic and Financial Policy for Transport, it was argued that “although in recent times there has been an improvement in the presentation of information by the jurisdictions, it continues to be evident that there are jurisdictions and companies in the interior that have not yet fulfilled the appropriate information requirements”
For this reason, the resolution established that the condition for the provinces and/or municipalities to receive the resources must sign agreements with the Ministry of Transportation.
Through these agreements, the beneficiary jurisdictions undertake to continue contributing an amount that, at a minimum, maintains the proportion that would have been verified by the contributions corresponding to 2021 as a compensation fund and the contributions of the local jurisdictions.
