The 11th Congress of the Popular Participation Movement (MPP) called “Eduardo Bonomi – Gabriela Soto” was held in the 19 departments of the country.
The initiative had as a caller the artiguista stoves that added 40 throughout the country and one of them was in Colonia.
“We started this congress in the opposite way to what a traditional congress can be, first we want to exchange with the militancy, the social groups and all those who want to join, and then we will build a discussion document based on the contributions made in the stoves” explained the deputy from the Front and member of the MPP Nicolás Viera.
The leader also said that “we are interested in sharing how the country is today, discussing old ideas, as well as some new ones, and talking about the future, thinking of a transformative course.”
“We have the task and the militant responsibility to improve the society that touched us and these stoves are a call to light ourselves up to build a future as a society,” said Viera.
After 40 stoves, other instances and workshops will follow so that, from the debate of ideas, new paths emerge for Uruguayans, without exclusions.
The activity began with a message sent by the Mayor of Canelones Yamandú Orsi, then there was a presentation by student teacher Marco Colo and Deputy Lilián Galán who kicked off the exchange and debate on artiguism today.
In Colonia, the first bonfire was held at the headquarters of the Otto Wolff Club in Colonia del Sacramento. Similar activities are planned in Carmelo, Rosario and other locations before the end of the year.
