Officials from the Simón Bolívar Municipal Police Autonomous Institute in Valles del Tuy captured four citizens in flagrante delicto, for theft of strategic material at the facilities of the Venezuelan Plastic Corporation SA (Coveplast), located on the San Francisco de Yare national highway. Commissioner (IAPEM) Douglas Tovar, director of the Simón Bolívar Municipal Police, informed Últimas Noticias that a phone call was received at the local security headquarters from an official attached to the Bolivarian Militia who was on duty at the Coveplast factory, SA, attached to the Ministry of People’s Power for Industries and National Production, who heard the strange noise and theft in the aforementioned company, for which reason the police commissions were activated.
He said that upon arrival at the factory owned by the Venezuelan State, the officers reviewed modules 5, 6, 1, 2 and 3, where after an exhaustive inspection they found a shear and wiring cuts. Quickly, the troops began patrolling on foot through the green areas, managing to locate two plates of ferrous material (copper) and three pieces of cable covered in synthetic material, in addition to various objects of criminal interest.
After an intense search, the police officers captured four citizens inside the electricity boxes, who were cutting the cables. “The suspects were called to a halt, taking security measures, who were transferred to a visible place to carry out a body inspection (…) Given the crime of theft of the nation’s strategic material, the detained citizens were transferred to the Simón Bolívar Police Coordination Center, where they were read their constitutional rights,” the commissioner clarified.
Tovar revealed that the detainees are Iván José Mayora González (23 years old), Dugleiver Enrique Alcalá Villanueva (24), both inhabitants of the La Aguada sector; Reniel Enrique Sequera Vázquez (20) and Jesús Alberto Belisario Machillanda (31), the latter two reside in the Colinas de San Francisco de Yare urbanization. They confiscated three cutting tools, a shear and cables.
The procedure was notified to the Prosecutor’s Office No. 19 of the Public Ministry in the state of Miranda, with competence in strategic material of the nation.
The director of the Yare Police admitted that the apprehension of these four citizens was achieved thanks to the security patrols and protection carried out by officials of the Bolivarian Militia, Polimiranda and the local police at the facilities of this Venezuelan company that transforms polymers and plastic resins.
