Four people were detained for their alleged link with the theft of 20 kilos of gold, said Cicpc director, Douglas Rico Commissioner.
In that case, the detainees are identified as Juan Carlos José Brito Ramírez (34), Edgardo José Brito González (24), Franklin Javier Gil Gil (34) and Juan Carlos Brito (55), Rico detailed during the transmission of his Radial Program Cicpc a day.
“Until the moments, we have recovered the amount of 17 kilos 978 grams; approximately 2 kilos that were sold to a person are missing, which is required to deliver the gold that it acquired illegally,” the police chief revealed.
The gold bars, which added 20 kilos, belong to a private entrepreneur who sells the material to the Venezuelan Mining Corporation. This person had a trusted staff, who used to transport gold. “These managed; they looked for a blacksmith who built them some bars that later painted golden,” Rico explained.
Along the way, they stole the 20 gold bars and replace them with the manufactured and painted of gold. “They made those who knew nothing,” said Rico, referring to those involved in the operation.
The gold owner denounced the fact before the Cicpc from where they open an investigation through the division against theft. In the midst of the inquiries, the Municipal Delegation of the Cicpc-Caripe (Monagas) recovered the ingots that added 17 kilos 978 grams, Rico detailed.
