Responsibilities of the Government of CDMX and the governments of the 16 municipalities:
– Creation of a registry of paid and unpaid caregivers, to promote their labor and economic connection through plans and programs.
– Promote shared gender responsibility in the distribution and redistribution of care work.
– Promote the formation of care services cooperatives to boost the local economy and expand access to these services.
Duties of the Government of Mexico City:
– Promote agreements with the private and business sectors to balance personal and work life: remote work, paternity and maternity leave, care leave and consensual reduction of working hours.
– Promote the formalization of employment and decent salaries for paid caregivers, as well as their training and professionalization.
– Create a certification for paid caregivers, which must be free.
– Have support programs for children, adolescents, pregnant women and people over 60 years of age not included in another federal or local program.
The facilities with care services that the capital Government must offer are:
– Child care centers.
– Day houses for older adults.
– Care spaces for women to prevent and combat gender violence.
– Health houses.
– Non-punitive or stigmatizing care and treatment centers for drug use.
– Rest and support spaces for caregivers.
– Community dining rooms and laundries.
– Spaces for the promotion of shared responsibility for care.
– Network of care services for people with disabilities.
– Specialized shelters for homeless people.
