Yesterday 39 youth militants from the Voluntad Popular (VP) party from Caracas, Miranda, Anzoátegui and Portuguesa resigned, due to “bad practices” by the leadership of the awning.
Through a statement, the president of the Federation of University Centers of the UCV, David Sosa, announced his resignation along with 38 other party members.
“I announce my resignation from Voluntad Popular. There were many years of work and important learning that I appreciate. Also, many disappointments. But, I close this cycle under the commitment to continue fighting for a free and democratic Venezuela,” said Sosa.
Likewise, the statement states: “We denounce and fight against these faults (of the Party). However, the authorities simply looked the other way while these injustices are being committed. Bad practices affect everyone and harm the organization”.
On February 19, more than 100 regional and parish leaders and VP activists resigned from that party, saying that the group, founded by Leopoldo López, now a fugitive from justice, has deviated from its own values and statements.
