Federal institutions arrested in the municipality of Vista Hermosa, Michoacán, 38 subjects allegedly related to the Church La Luz del Mundo while training in weapons management, to whom a gun, tactical equipment, cartridges and armament replicas were seized.
The above was announced by the security cabinet as part of the apprehensions, cateos, confessors of firearms and drugs in seven states.
The Ministry of Public Security of Michoacán reported that the subjects said they were members of “Jahzer”, secret guard of this religious organization. When the authority arrived and asked: “And what do you do here?”, The answer was: “We are preparing for the end of the world.”
The detainees insisted that they were part of the Church and that their mission was to train to protect their leaders, their temples and their mass events.
The operation was carried out by elements of the State Police and the Mexican Army, after locating a property enabled as a training field.
In the place, 38 people who wore shirts and credentials with logos of that religious congregation were captured. Among those arrested was an American woman, who was seized a short weapon, 17 replicas of long and short weapons, a charger, 15 cartridges and tactical equipment.
Federal sources indicated that the group was also confiscated five replicas of long weapons, 14 plastic shorts, 22 props knives, five metal knives, copies of loaders of various calibers and tactical equipment.
The detainees were made available to the Attorney General’s Office.
Other operations
In Oaxaca, elements of the defense, the Navy, the National Guard and the Attorney General’s Office arrested two people and seized 38 kilos of heroin, as well as fentanyl.
In Sinaloa, the authorities located and disabled 16 areas of preparation of methamphetamines, secured chemical substances and an organic synthesis reactor. Economic affectation to crime in that operation is estimated at 254 million pesos.
In Elota, a clandestine camp was located and dismantled, where a machine gun between six long weapons was confiscated.
