354 families will be relocated in Edomex due to the collapse of Chiquihuite

Those affected will be relocated to Colinas de San José in Tlalnepantla de Baz, State of Mexico, in an area of ​​4,000,726 square meters.

The National Institute of Sustainable Land (Insus) received this land as a donation to carry out the management of the project and the deed in favor of the families, once the houses were completed.

Also collaborating in this project are the Secretariat of Urban Development and Housing of Mexico City (Seduvi), the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection of Mexico City (SGIRPC), the mayor’s office Gustavo A. Madero and the city council of Tlalnepantla de Baz.

Between September 6 and 7, 2021, a softening occurred due to rains on a slope of the Chiquihuite hill that later broke off due to the 7.1 magnitude earthquake with epicenter in Guerrero that occurred on September 10 of that year, which caused the affectation of the dwellings.

The collapse in Chiquihuite caused the death of three members of a family.
