32 people arrested for drug trafficking

Members of a group dedicated to the reception and transfer of drug shipments were arrested in “Operation Eko”, which took place in the Las Perlas Archipelago, in San Miguelito, Panama City and the province of West Panama.

The First Superior Drug Prosecutor, Marta Barrios, explained that there were 32 detainees who received the drug in the Las Perlas Archipelago and later transferred it to docks in the Bay of Panama.

In this operation, two firearms with ammunition, 6 vehicles and more than 18 thousand dollars were also seized.

Within the investigations, the authorities determined the link of this criminal group to other criminal acts, in which the Public Ministry, the National Police and Senan, have seized 4,289 packages of illicit substances.
