This Wednesday, the immigration authorities of the United States reported the deportation to Cuba by sea of 192 Cuban rafters intercepted last week, confirmed the Coast Guard.
And this Thursday they also announced the return of another 118 Cubans intercepted on Saturday and early Sunday in the Florida Keys. In addition, they arrested a human smuggling suspect, transferred to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) jail, the entity reported.
This return, exceptionally, was carried out by two cutters, something quite rare.
The Cubans deported Tuesday were apprehended in 13 separate operations last week off the coast of South Florida. Four of the arrivals occurred on Thursday, four on Friday and five on Saturday.
This same Wednesday, another 44 rafters who are being processed for deportation were detained, a policy that the Biden administration is carrying out aggressively.

The current migratory wave that has brought thousands of Cubans to the border points of the United States has broken all the historical records of Cuban emigration for a short period. From October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022, corresponding to fiscal year 2022, 24,607 Cubans have arrived in the United States through this route.
