30% of dengue cases nationwide have been detected in the Metropolitan Health Region

There have been 13,962 reported cases of dengue in the country, of which 30% come from the Metropolitan Health Region, according to Dr. Tamara Salcedo, coordinator of Epidemiology for the region.

Field studies conducted by the Ministry of Health and the Gorgas Institute have detected the four existing serotypes of dengue in the Metropolitan Health Region.

He also reported on the validity of the resolution of the Ministry of Health that maintains the health alert for cases of dengue in the country.
