The attorney general, Tarek William Saab, asserted that international law has been “mortally wounded”
The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported the appointment of three prosecutors to investigate the deaths of civilians and military personnel recorded on January 3, after the United States aggression against Venezuela.
“We have appointed three prosecutors to investigate the dozens of innocent casualties that occurred in the midst of this war crime and this unusual aggression against the Venezuelan homeland,” said Saab during the notification ceremony of the new board of directors of the National Assembly.
In his intervention, the prosecutor demanded the immediate freedom of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the first combatant, Cilia Flores.
According to him, the capture of the head of state and his wife is “totally null and void and violates international law,” as well as the United States Constitution itself.
Finally, he called on international organizations to act based on international law, which he described as “mortally wounded”, so that the release of both is carried out.
