Permissive, skinny in defense, lacking in attitude. This is how Oriente Petrolero in Paraguay presented itself to Tacuary. Negligence in defense and ineffectiveness in the Santa Cruz team, made the result adverse in South America, once again. Tacuary, the last player in the Paraguayan league, easily prevailed against a great Bolivian soccer player.
At minute 2′ there was danger of a goal by the local. Rodolfo Arguello overflowed on the right, took out the center that was closing and hit the far post. The refiner was saved at the start of the game.
At 15 ‘the first of the premises arrived. Alfredo Amarilla filtered a magnificent ball for Arguello’s run to the top of the small area, and later the assist for Edson Cariús. Second clear opportunity, and a goal from Tacuary to make it 1-0.
At 27′ Oriente Petrolero had a penalty in his favor. Villalba jumped to head but was hit by Amarilla in the aerial dispute. Debatable sanction, but criminal at last.
Cristian Álvarez took the ball, settled on the penalty spot, and crossed the right hand for 1-1 at 29 ‘. Great definition that confused the goalkeeper, who threw himself at the opposite post. Oriente Petrolero was excited about a better result.
In the second half, Oriente came out with a different attitude. He had at least two clear chances with Álvarez and another with Ampuero. On both occasions they did not have the efficiency to come back, and they ended up paying dearly.
At 52 ‘they fell 2-1 in favor of the local. Edson Cariús was once again present on the scoreboards with a great header. The forward received the center from the right, and defined comfortably. Loose mark of the last line from Santa Cruz, and the Paraguayan goal.
Elías Alfonso scored the 3-1 at 57′. The Paraguayan player received after two touches on the left wing, and went into the area. He hooked out, left three rivals on the road, and took the shot at the near post of Quiñónez. Again the albiverde defense made water.
The game was later closed with some attempts by the refiner team, but these were left to that, only isolated attempts. Oriente did not work and his attitude faded with the passing of the minutes.
Tacuary got the third goal and found out the winner. It is the first time that the Paraguayan team has scored three goals or more since October 21, when they thrashed 5-1 on October 12 in the Paraguayan league.
Oriente must wait to score in their last three competitive matches, at home against Bragantino and Tacuary, and The South American will close against Estudiantes in La Plata.
