He Independent Santa Fe submitted this Wednesday to the Junior and beat him 3-0 in the second leg of the Colombian Super League to win the first title of the year in the country, after having drawn 1-1 in the first leg last week.
The goals were the work of midfielder Ewil Murillo, Argentine Nahuel Bustos and veteran striker Hugo Rodallega, a great figure in the match, which led to the celebration of the crowd that came to the El Campín stadium in Bogotá to watch the second leg of the Super League, which will be played by the two winners of the Colombian league in 2025.
The capitalians soon surprised their rival and opened the scoring in the 5th minute in a play in which Murillo recovered the ball in rival territory to start a lethal counterattack. The ball passed through the feet of Rodallega and midfielder Yilmar Velásquez, who enabled Murillo to take a shot that Uruguayan Mauro Silveira could not save.
The local team maintained control of the match against an opponent that had many difficulties breaking the defense and found little attack from attackers Yimmi Chará, Joel Canchimbo and Guillermo Paiva. However, he managed to create his first two opportunities in the 26th minute with consecutive shots by full-back Yeison Suárez, in the area, and by midfielder Edwin Herrera, from long distance, which were cleared with solvency by goalkeeper Andrés Mosquera.
In this context, the score was 2-0 in the 48th minute of the initial stage when Rodallega, in a free kick from the side, managed to send the ball to the bottom to the surprise of Silveira, who could not do much to avoid the local celebration.

For the second half, Uruguayan coach Alfredo Arias sent veteran Luis Fernando Muriel and winger Cristian Barrios to the field, with the aim of the team creating more opportunities and keeping their chances of winning the title alive.
Santa Fe took advantage of the fact that its rival went on the attack and managed to score 3-0 in a play in which winger Omar Fernández hunted down a rebound left by Silveira after a header from Rodallega, but referee Jairo Mayorga, after reviewing the VAR, annulled the goal for offside.
The capital’s team knew how to control the match and this time they did achieve the final 3-0 at 95 in a great collective play between the creative Alexis Zapata and the Argentine attacker Bustos, the team’s most popular signing, took a shot that definitively extinguished Junior’s hopes.
