26-year-old motorcyclist dies after hitting a harrow in Contramaestre

LIMA, Peru – An accident this Sunday in the Contrameaestre municipality, Santiago de Cuba province, left one person dead after a harrow collided with a motorcycle, ending the life of the driver.

The young motorcyclist Damián Pérez, a 26-year-old native of the town of La Maya, died instantly after the impact. In addition, the accident left another injured person identified as Brian Jr. Gandalia, who was taken to a nearby hospital and whose current state of health is unknown.

“The images shared from the scene show a very strong scene: several people lying on the asphalt, while scattered remains of the motorcycle can be seen around them, completely destroyed after the crash,” shared the independent journalist. Yosmany Mayeta.

According to the reporter, the motorcycle became embedded in the wheels of the truck, and the impact threw the occupants several meters.

Among the main causes of accidents are “not paying due attention to controlling the vehicle” and “disrespect for the right of way”, which – according to the same official source – account for 63% of the incidents. Likewise, in that report it emerged that “seven out of 10 events generate victims” and that vehicle collisions “continue to be the most dangerous accident with 36% of the total number of deaths.”
