25N women's march: the demonstration against violence against women continues in CDMX

The capital authorities expressed that their priority in this special deployment will be to preserve security during the development of the demonstration, without interfering with the exercise of the right to free expression and social protest.

Every year, November 25 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This date aims to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world.

Although all women in the world are prone to violence, the UN recognizes that some women and girls are particularly vulnerable, such as girls and women with disabilities.

This 2025, in Mexico City, various feminist collectives, groups of victims’ families and social organizations will hold marches and rallies to demand justice, make gender violence visible and demand guarantees for women and people who are victims of structural violence.

The mobilizations would begin in the morning and will extend throughout the day.

According to the call, at 11:00 a.m. the Justice for Diana Collective would begin a march from the Angel of Independence towards the Zócalo to demand justice for Diana’s feminicide, which occurred in 2017 in Chimalhuacán.

While, starting at noon, various feminist groups, searching mothers and relatives of missing people will begin their activities with simultaneous concentrations in the Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan, the Monument to the Revolution, the Angel of Independence and the Zócalo itself.

Their march will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will have as its axis the demand for the presentation of missing people alive, an end to femicides, justice for survivors, the end of violence against migrant women, the decriminalization and guarantee of legal, safe and free abortion, as well as the rejection of the criminalization of the protest.
