The Minister of Environment, Palno Henríquez, He revealed Wednesday that the Attorney General’s Office handles a monthly budget of just 250 thousand pesos to operate throughout the Dominican territory.
As explained, this institution faces serious limitationsincluding the lack of fuels to attend audiences and a fleet of just six vehicles.
«Here we have to do an exercise of sincerity. If we really want to protect the environmentwe must understand that this directly impacts the water, the health of the people, the tourism sector and all sectors such as agriculture, ”said Henríquez.
The minister emphasized the need to open a serious debate about the budget assigned to the environment and allied institutions.
Also considered that without resources appropriate, it is difficult to guarantee the protection and conservation of the natural environment of the country.
