246,000 people were served by mobile courts

From last February 9 to the present, the mobile courts served 246,302 people during 706 days. The information was presented by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Judge Beatriz Rodríguez, who attended the last day of this year of mobile courts in Caracas, which took place in Plaza San Martín.

“The country became a great court headquarters,” commented Rodríguez during his speech in the spaces of Plaza San Martín from where he offered an assessment of the 10 months since the mobile courts program was activated.

In this regard, Judge Rodríguez said that the judges participating in these mobile courts traveled through 244 municipalities where they processed 219,766 procedures requested by people.

“All of this has an impact on the core close to those people and that makes justice more humane, as Judge Tania D’Amelio often says,” Rodríguez reflected.
The head of Venezuela’s highest court recalled that when President Nicolás Maduro attended the opening of the judicial year on January 31, he asked to leave the offices to serve the people.

“We must leave the offices, the offices, the air conditioners and go listen to the people in the communities. Go and hear their criticism, be questioned by the people and take that strength to improve the system,” said the head of state during the opening session of the judicial year.
“And the TSJ came with its entire army of patriots, without neglecting its usual functions,” said Judge Rodríguez yesterday, eleven months after that call made by Maduro.

“The TSJ comes with a very demanding, tight agenda, because we are committed to finishing this year victoriously, defending the homeland, preserving peace,” said the also president of the Electoral Chamber of the highest court.

The president of the TSJ called on the officials of the Judiciary to avoid “the juggling of cases (…) because for us there is no problem that has to be dismissed.”

In relation to the election of justices of the peace, called for the upcoming December 15, Judge Rodríguez said that the TSJ has promoted the holding of 11,317 meetings with the communities to address this branch of justice. “And on December 15 we will be there with everything,” said Rodríguez, who interprets the election of justices of the peace as a new way to bring “justice even closer to the people.”

The controller activated

“I was born here at the Concepción Palacios Maternity Hospital; That is to say, I am from this parish,” commented the new Comptroller General Gustavo Vizcaíno when the president of the TSJ gave him the microphone to offer a greeting to those who filled the Plaza San Martín in search of solving a judicial situation.

“We are incorporated into these days of mobile courts to get to the bottom of the town,” said Vizcaíno.

Once the event was concluded, Judge Rodríguez took a tour of the mobile court and its different rooms. He was accompanied by judges Luis Damiani Bustillos, Inocencio Figueroa, Tania D’ Amelio, Lourdes Anderson, Fanny Márquez as well as Gladys Requena, court inspector.
