24 panels of cocaine and 11 hand grenades seized from a criminal group

Agents of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), assigned to Detachment 114, seized 24 panels of cocaine, among others.

The information was aired on the social networks of the Zone Command N 11 of the GNB, from where it is stated that the operation took place in the La Macana sector, town of Barranquitas, Rosario de Perijá municipality (Zulia).

In the aforementioned place, the military confronted members of a Structured Organized Crime Group (Gedo), two of whom were captured.

In this procedure, GNB officials seized 24 panela-type wrappers of alleged drugs called cocaine. But, in addition, they found weapons, ammunition and explosive devices, among others.

In that sense, the military seized 1 AR-15 5.56 mm caliber rifle; 1 22 caliber rifle; eleven explosive hand grenades; 5 AR-15 rifle magazines; two 7.62×51 mm caliber Light Automatic Rifle (FAL) magazines and 98 ammunition of various calibers.

The military report indicates that 3 telephone devices were also seized at the site, as well as several textile pieces used by antisocials such as harness vests, bracelets, sweatshirts, jungle hats, ponchos and 1 blue tarp.

”We continue to advance and win in favor of the border security of Zulia, since we are guarantors of peace and order,” says the report released by the GNB.

Another anti-drug procedure was carried out at kilometer 12 of the Central Regional Highway, a Citizen Service Point located at the Tazón tollbooth, Caracas, where 83 doses of marijuana were seized.

The procedure was carried out by agents assigned to the Regional Anti-Drug Intelligence Unit 43, belonging to the GNB, who had the support of the canine “Rocky”.

The substance was found hidden in the belongings of a citizen, who was arrested at the scene, says the military report.

Both procedures were notified to the Public Ministry. “These actions reflect the commitment of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and citizen security organizations in the fight against illicit drug trafficking, reaffirming their determination to combat this global threat and contribute to the tranquility and well-being of the Venezuelan people,” the report concludes.
