Oaxaca, Oax., Municipal police of this capital placed under guard 22 migrants who were in the terminal of the company Autobuses de Oriente (ADO), 19 adults and four minors.

The Secretary of Public Security of this capital, Raúl Ávila Ibarra, announced that elements under his charge were implementing the Safe Traveler operation in said facilities, when people arrived who, seeing the uniformed men, began to act erratically.

He indicated that as soon as they entered the bus station, some of these individuals immediately went to the toilets, which caught the attention of the uniformed officers, who carried out a routine checkreported the official.

He added that when questioning these people, their responses were unconvincing, since some claimed to be from Chiapas, although they did not know information such as typical places of that entity, the name of the governor, Rutilio Escandón, and other information that, according to Ávila Ibarra, any Chiapanecan would have driven.

He explained that 19 of the migrants presented credentials from the National Electoral Institute, allegedly apocryphal or with photographs that did not correspond to those who presented the documents, for which they will be presented to the Attorney General’s Office to determine their legal status.

Raúl Ávila reported that the intervention of the National Migration Institute was requested to verify the situation of the detainees, most of whom finally identified themselves as being from Nicaragua. The police of the city of Oaxaca transferred the migrants to their barracks, with the intention of putting them at the disposal of federal institutions.
