MADRID, Spain.- A group of 23 Cuban rafters from the province of Artemisa arrived this Wednesday in the Florida Keys in a homemade boat.
As reported through Twitter US Border Patrol Miami Sector Chief Walter N. Slosar were taken into federal custody.

In statements offered to Showbiz Brito TVthe Cuban migrants specified that they had left Baracoa beach, Santa Fe, on Tuesday afternoon and arrived in the United States at 9 in the morning on Wednesday after a 17-hour journey.
The Cubans, among whom were five children, said they were in good health. In addition, they hope to obtain a temporary residence permit, known as a parole, and not be returned to the Island.
Just this week, the US Coast Guard deported 49 Cuban rafters who had been intercepted in the Florida Keys.
Previously, a group of 99 Cubans was repatriated by the crew of the Coast Guard cutter Paul Clark. The Caribbean migrants were intercepted off the Florida Keys in seven operations carried out by the Coast Guard itself.
So far this fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2021, the US Coast Guard has returned more than 2,000 Cubans to Cuba.
On repeated occasions, the Coast Guard has warned of the danger of jumping into the sea in boats in poor condition.
Recently Hollywood actor Andy Garcia and singer Gloria Estefan, both US citizens born in Cuba, they lamented the current migratory crisis on the Island.
In this regard Andy García expressed: “For me as a Cuban it is sad to see that people suffer, I pray that one day that regime will end. (…) They cannot give freedom to their people, they cannot feed them and that is why people have been escaping from the country for 60 years”.
