21 Comptroller candidates go to review of merits;  13 were state employees

Out of 40 candidates who submitted their application for Comptroller General of the State in July only half left; but of the 21 that went through to the merit review phase, 13 were state employees; seven officials or former officials of the Comptroller’s Office itself and six employees of a ministry.

Three candidates come from the private company or of any cooperative entity; there are four university professors and a candidate who was disqualified and has now appeared on the list of qualified, and whose background is unknown.

Deputy José Luis Porcel (CC) reported that all candidates with a criminal record certified by the Prosecutor’s Office were disqualified and clarified that there were 18 complaints against a dozen candidates. that way now 21 applicants will be interviewed from this Thursday.

Gerardo Rojas Aliaga He is an auditor, he was National Treasury and Budget Manager at the National Institute for Agrarian Reform (INRA) from July 2020 to May 2021. Before that, he was financial coordinator at the College of Auditors of La Paz.

Edgar Cayujra Barreto is a lawyer, was part of the elaboration of the Marcelo Quiroga Santa Cruz Law, “worked for more than 12 years in regulations and design of anti-corruption and transparency public policies in the former Ministry of Transparency and Fight against Corruption and the current Ministry of Justice and Institutional Transparency” indicates his curriculum.

Romulo Cahuana Choque He is a business administrator, he was part of the Agency for the Development of the Information Society in Bolivia (Adsib) until 2021. The Sernap, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Deputies, were the other jobs where he worked.

Filomena Ingala Callex She is an auditor, head of the audit unit of the Ministry of Productive Development since November 16, 2020; Before that, she was head of the internal audit unit of the Plurinational Notary Office. She resigned on November 11, 2020. She worked in various government offices and in state-owned companies, such as Entel.

Jaime Loayza Tapia He is an auditor, a specialist in municipal governments of Santa Cruz, mainly to whom he advises, he worked for the mayor’s offices of Cuatro Cañadas, San Carlos, San Juan, Comarapa, San Miguel de Velasco, Ivirgarzama, Portachuelo.

is finally Miguel Maranon Urquidi He is an economist, works in the Ministry of Economy, is a professional budget analyst for autonomous territorial entities and has worked in that State portfolio since 2017.

Maria Teresa Valdez de Candia He worked at the Comptroller General of the State (CGE) since 1993 and in 2006 he became the main manager of external auditing. That year she went to the Ministry of the Presidency as general director of administrative affairs, in which she remained until 2016 and then she was Superintendent of Administration and Finance. Between 2018 and 2020, she was the Bolivian consul in Washington. She returned in 2021 to enter the Foreign Ministry and currently holds the position of national director of administration and finance of the General Service of Personal Identification (Segip) “45 years of experience in public service,” says her resume.

-Benedict Marcos Apaza Vargas according to his documents, he has 24 years of experience as an auditor, he was in the CGE until 2017, when he served as external audit sub-controller in constitutional autonomies.

-Sandra Quiroga Solano She currently works as deputy comptroller of departmental governments, she has worked in different functions since the institution was called Comptroller General of the Republic.

-Edino Claudio Clavijo Ponce He is a lawyer, he started working at the CGE in 2007 as a supervisor, was promoted and currently holds the position of deputy comptroller of legal services from October 23, 2012 to date.

-Ana Maria Chuquimia Quispe She is an auditor, she joined the Comptroller’s Office in 1995 as an intern, from there she worked her way up and since January 2016 she has worked as supervisor B and eventually held the position of internal audit manager.

-Olga Edith Suarez Jimenez She is an auditor, currently holding the position of deputy comptroller at the central hierarchical level since 2021. She has held different positions in that department since 2004 and has been climbing through the ranks.

-Roy Ancasi Colque He is a former Comptroller’s official and later joined the institution as a trainer.

There are three candidates who work in the private sector or in some entity outside the State.

-Sixto Mendoza Patty He is a lawyer and was president of the departmental Federation of Agricultural Producers of La Paz, he also supported the processing of legal personalities of territorial social organizations.

-Armando Arce Balcazar He is an auditor and worked at the Sucre Telecommunications Cooperative (Cotes) from 2004 to April 2022.

-Alfredo Lorenzo Villca Cari He is an accountant, he is currently in charge of the warehouses of a private company dedicated to the import of massive products from Brazil; before that he was a freelancer.

The four teachers are:

-Gustavo Morejon Ignacio He is an auditor and director of the department of basic sciences of the faculty of economic sciences of the Technical University of Oruro (UTO).

-Carlos Javier Garron He is a financial auditor, teaches courses at the San Francisco Xavier University and the Simón Bolívar University.

-Mary Morales Velasquez She is an auditor and works as a tenured professor of auditing and public accounting at the Tomás Frías de Potosí University. Her work always developed in that city.

Angel Quisbert White He is an auditor, he is linked to several private companies as an auditor, he is currently a professor at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, although he worked at the Bolivian Mining Corporation in 2015.

The last qualified candidate is Javier Vega Viza, who was disqualified from submitting requirements because he did not present the release from military service; now it appears on the list of those enabled.
