As reported by the Ministry of Finance, in recent days the speakers of the joint economic commissions of the Senate and the House of Representatives have been summoned to discuss and analyze the articles proposed by the National Government.
It should be remembered that one of the points that the debate has fed is the amount established for the PGN of 2026, which amounts to $ 557 billion. Of that amount, the Executive has in view of $ 26.3 billion through the financing law initiative, which proposes a series of tax settings associated with sectors such as entertainment, tourism, hydrocarbons, among others.
In this regard, Senator Angélica Lozano said that from Congress The project will be studied thoroughly with a view to guaranteeing the lower effects of Colombians’ pocket.
“The budget was already for an elevated amount, inflated of $ 557 billion and the government wants a tax for $ 26 billion, the highest in history. We oppose it because it affects the citizens to whom more taxes are nailed. In these 10 days we have to approve article by article (…) so from here to September 25 with magnifying glass defending in each article the pocket of the Colombians,” highlighted.

– Between September 15 and 25 Senate and Chamber commissions must approve the budget project. It should be remembered that last year it was not approved in the first debate, so the project materialized via decree, as it had been based.
– October 1: If approved, the discussion of the articles in second debate will begin.
– October 20: If the Congress does not approve the project before midnight, it will govern the text presented by the Government with the modifications presented in the first debate.
– December 10: If the PGN was not presented or approved, this is the deadline that the Executive has to issue the repetition decree, with which the budget of the previous year is adopted with adjustments.
