2024, the safest year in EdoMéx: historic 6.3% reduction in high-impact crimes

Among these high-impact crimes with the greatest decrease in incidence are robbery with violence at home with 34.18%, kidnapping with 26.09%, extortion with 14.24%; while intentional homicide decreased 12.87% and feminicide fell 17.98 percent.

Additionally, the month of December of last year became the safest of the current administration, registering the lowest number of victims of intentional homicide.

These figures are part of the report sent by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) to the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.

During 2024, the close collaboration between federal and state security and law enforcement authorities stood out. A clear example of joint work was the successful “Enjambre” and “Atarraya” operations, which allowed the arrest of 41 people and the arrest of more than 190. establishments such as bars and chelerías.
