The Public Health authorities, through the social networks of the Ministry and the VacúnateRD program, announced that 200,000 doses against the virus have already been applied in the country. COVID-19 in children from 5 to 11 yearsjust two months after this process began in that population group.
In just one week, 57,409 infants were vaccinated, since according to figures shared on the @VacunateRD Instagram account, As of April 7, some 142,591 children had already received the first dose of the anti-coronavirus biological.
From March 31 to April 7, the increase in the number of vaccinated children was 4,740 considering that, at that time, the registry marked 137,851 minors between 5 and 11 years of age inoculated.
Free Journal consulted the director of the Expanded Program of Vaccination (PAI), Dr. Aída Lucía Vargas, who explained how this figure was achieved.
“We are vaccinating children at all vaccination posts, that is, it is no longer exclusive to educational centers, but we are vaccinating at all posts where Covid is vaccinated”, accurate.
Vargas recalled that on Saturdays there are special days for children with clowns and snacks so that they are inoculated, although this weekend, as it is Holy Saturday, there will be no operation at the Needle Institute (Inaguja).
Similarly, it is vaccinating children from 5 to 11 years on house-to-house journeys.
Informed consents are available to parents. The Sinovac vaccine in this age range involves the application of two doses with a waiting interval of 28 days between the first and second dose.
Vaccination centers closed
The 443 centers of vaccination that continue to operate nationwide will be closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the occasion of the celebration of the Easter holiday.
On Monday, April 18, they will resume their usual work.
