20-year sentence for rape of stepdaughter

At the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Santiagothe Fourth Collegiate Court sentenced a man who sexually raped his stepdaughter to 20 years in prison youngerwhich he also intimidated, threatened and harassed.

After hearing the story of the accusation, by the trial prosecutor Elvin Ventura, the court, presided over by Judge Acassia Reyes and made up of Rubén Rodríguez and Ingrid Liberato, sentenced the defendant to serve the custodial sentence and pay compensation of two million pesos in favor of the victim’s family.

The offenses against the girl, who was 11 years old at the time of the events, were committed by her mother’s partner, who on several occasions took advantage of the fact that the younger she was alone in the residence to sexually violate her.

The aggressor kept his victim under permanent threat, intimidation, suggestion and all kinds of psychological violence.

In the accusation, the Public Ministry attributed to the convicted person the violation of articles 309-1, 331, 332-1 and 332-2 of the Penal Code; modified by Law 24-97 on Gender Violence.

In addition, he charged the violation of article 396, paragraphs B and C, of ​​Law 136-03 of the Code for the Protection System and the Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents, for rape, incest and psychological abuse to the detriment of the victim younger.
