Bani. Two young people were shot to death last night when they were surprised by two men who were traveling on board a pasola and surprised them on the stretch of road that connects the municipal districts of Catalina and El Carretón.
The victims were identified as José Méndez (El Mecánico) and Martin Cabrera Arias, 27 and 21 years old respectively, who received multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies and died arriving at the emergency room of the Nuestra Señora de Regla hospital, where they were moved by residents of those communities.
In relation to this bloodshed, agents from the subdirectorate of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (Dicrim), assigned to the South Central regional directorate of the National Policetogether with the prosecutor Gaudy Castillo, moved to fight the fact and proceeded to collect evidence.
The forensic doctor, Dr. Denia Guerrero, proceeded to evaluate both corpses in the local hospital morgue, which were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) in the province of Azua de Compostela, which were delivered to their relatives in the this Sunday morning for his wake and burial.
In relation to this fact, a police source reported that the institution has already identified Wilquin Melo (Deiby), who in the company of a certain Generito, who are fugitives, as the alleged perpetrators of the death of the two young people.
Also, as soon as they were informed of the death of their relatives, relatives of the victims proceeded to set fire to the house and a vehicle owned by Wilkin Melo’s father, in the municipal district of El Carretón, in an act of revenge.
A source also reported that the alleged perpetrator of the double crime had recently served a 12-year sentence for homicide in a prison in San Pedro de Macorís.
