Pedernales.- A Haitian woman and a Dominican man lost their lives after an accident in a Daihatsu truck loaded with merchandise and dozens of people traveling to the domestic commercial exchange market on the southern border with the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
In the accident in which the truck plunged down a ravine, the Dominican Antonio Rivas Ferreras lost his life, after being trapped under the vehicle, while the Haitian woman has not been identified.
Five other unidentified people were referred to other centers from this border area due to their seriousness.
A unit of the Police and rescue members of the Civil Defense went to the disaster zone as soon as they received the voice and alert regarding the accident.
According to the report, the incident occurred at around four in the afternoon this Friday.
The authorities are still investigating the causes of the accident that occurred in the mediations of the area identified as La Agüita.
