The Boicobo Sur-X1 and Margarita X-10 gas wells and the Yarará-X1 oil project will enter the production stage this year and will increase the supply of gas, the Hydrocarbons Ministry reported.
Boicobo Sur-X1, which meant a discovery of around 1 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas, will enter the production stage in June of this year, while Margarita 10 will contribute more production of that hydrocarbon since July.
Similarly, for this year, production of the Yarará-X1 oil well is scheduled to begin, which will produce between 300 and 400 barrels of crude per day.
This year the execution of the projects that began in 2021 will continue, such as the drilling of exploratory wells Sararenda-X3D, San Miguel-X2 ST, Itacaray-X1, Chaco Oeste-X1, Curiche-X1011 and de the development wells Tatarenda-33A, Chaco Este-4, Boquerón Norte-8 and Boquerón Norte-12, in addition to the intervention of the Sipotindi-X1 well to evaluate its potential.
At the same time, with the aim of increasing hydrocarbon production and replenishing reserves, existing resources and investments in exploration and exploitation will be optimized.
Former Hydrocarbons Minister Álvaro Ríos said that Margarita X-10 is a development well and may increase supply, but it is not a new discovery.
He added that Boicobo must still be developed with the drilling of area delimitation wells and with that start the productive phase, but he anticipated that this could delay.
Yaará will help with a greater supply of oil, but it was announced several years ago.
