The Uruguayan Fernando Gorriarán and the Argentine Nicolás Ibáñez scored this Sunday a goal each so that the UANL Tigers beat the Tuzos del Pachuca in the match for the Champion of Champions trophy of the 2022-2023 season of Mexican soccer. Israel Luna scored for Pachuca. The result made the team led by the Uruguayan Robert Dante Siboldi the best club in the country last year and meant the fourth time that the cats obtained this title.
In the duel the two champions of last season of the Mexican first division met, the Tuzos of Uruguayan Guillermo Almada won the Apertura 2022 tournament, last October, and the felines won the Clausura 2023 in May. Los Tigres dominated the first half , while Pachuca, with a renewed squad compared to that of the 2022 Apertura title, suffered to generate association football.
