2-1: Jenni Hermoso scores again with Pachuca

Jennifer Beautiful scored the first goal in the 2-1 victory of the Pachuca about the champion UANL Tigers at the close of day seven of the Clausura 2023 of the Mexican women’s league. It was the fourth consecutive victory for Pachuca and the second consecutive defeat for the cats. Charlyn Corral scored the other goal in a duel in which the locals dominated from the start. Pachuca made it 1-0 in minute seven thanks to an effective wall between Corral and Hermoso that the Madrilenian defined with a right-footed shot from the crescent with which she beat goalkeeper Aurora Santiago’s stretch. In another duel, the leader Monterrey thrashed Necaxa 3-0 with goals from Nigerian Chinwendu Ihezuo, Christina Bukenroad and Rebeca Bernal. Also this Monday, Guadalajara beat Mazatlán FC 0-6.

Matchday seven of the Clausura kicked off last Thursday with a 3-0 win for América, led by the Spanish Ángel Villacampa, over San Luis, a team in which the Iberians Marta Perarnau and Beatriz Parra started as starters.

On Friday, Juárez FC, led by the coach born in Cuenca, Milagros Martínez, drew 1-1 as a visitor against Tijuana; and Querétaro, in which goalkeeper Marta Alemany from Girona plays, tied 2-2 with León. On Saturday Pumas UNAM beat Santos Laguna 4-1 and Toluca beat Puebla 0-2. A day later, Atlas won 1-0 over Cruz Azul with a goal from Salvadoran Brenda Ceren.

Monterrey is the leader after seven days

After seven days, Monterrey is in first place with a perfect mark; he has 21 points. Guadalajara follows with 19, in third place is Pachuca with 18, América ranks fourth with 17 points, Juárez FC adds 16 in fifth; the Tigres monarch has 15 points in position six.
