2-1: Argentina's 'covered' player now has three out of three and is the unexpected leader

Independent Rivadavia de Mendoza remains the only leader with an ideal score after completing the third day of the Argentine soccer Apertura Tournament this Tuesday. The Mendoza team beat 2-1 Sarmiento from Junín to add their third victory in a row and remain the sole leader of Zone B with nine units, two more than their escorts Tigre and River Plate, who on this day respectively beat Racing Club 3-1 and tied 0-0 with Rosario Central.

In this same area, Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata was in third place with six points after its 3-1 victory on Monday against Aldosivi, while Racing Club was last after its defeat against Tigre, which made it the only team that has not yet added a unit in the competition.

In Zone A, there were three leaders with seven points: Lanús – which tied this Monday 2-2 with Instituto as a visitor -, Platense – which on Saturday beat Talleres 2-1 in Córdoba – and Vélez Sarsfield – which on Saturday tied 1-1 with Independiente at home -.
