199 new covid-19 infections reported on Friday #24Jun

Zulia presented the highest number of infections in two of its 21 municipalities: Maracaibo 57 and San Francisco two


A total of 199 cases of covid infections, 195 by community transmission and 4 imported, were detected on Friday, June 24, which brings the number of confirmed cases in Venezuela to 525,539.

According to the daily balance, the Sectoral Vice President of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, the community cases were detected in the states of Zulia 59, Carabobo 43, Caracas 38, Yaracuy 18, Miranda 15, Bolívar 8, La Guaira (Vargas) 3, Lara 2 and Aragua 2. While Sucre, Guárico, Táchira, Anzoátegui, Apure, Amazonas and Cojedes registered a single infection, respectively.

The imported cases come from: Panama 1, Chile 1, Turkey 1 and the Dominican Republic 1, all with entry through the Maiquetía airport in Vargas state.

According to Ñáñez, the country continues without reporting deaths, so the figure remains at 5,726 throughout the national territory.

On day 831 of the pandemic in the country, 1,784 active cases were reported and 518,029 people recovered, which represents 99% of infections.

“To date we have 1,110 patients who are asymptomatic, 546 with mild acute respiratory failure, 92 with moderate acute respiratory failure and 36 in the intensive care unit,” Ñáñez said on Twitter.
